Leon Beyer Riesling “Comtes D’Eguisheim” Grand Cru 2014
$182.00
Volume: 750ml
The 2014 Riesling Grand Cru Pfersigberg Comtes d’Eguisheim opens with a very clear and subtle bouquet with dried citrus flavors, fresh pineapples, and a nice purity and elegance on the nose. On the palate the 2014 shows a good concentration of ripe white peaches along with the tension-filled structure and salinity of the brown soil on sandstone marls. Bone dry (2.5 grams of residual sugar), this is a pure and elegant, finessed and well-balanced Riesling that will be a great wine with raw fish in a couple of years. – Robert Parker 91 points

Winemaking
Grapes are hand-harvested from Grand Cru vineyards around Eguisheim and gently pressed to preserve purity. Fermentation is carried out under controlled temperatures to highlight the varietal’s precision and minerality. In line with the house style, the wine is fermented dry, with no emphasis on oak. It is then matured to develop complexity and structure before bottling.
