Located in the historic village of Eguisheim, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and historically important wine villages in Alsace, Léon Beyer is one of the region’s most historic family-owned estates.

The Beyer family’s winemaking heritage dates back to 1580, and for more than fourteen generations the family has cultivated vineyards in and around Eguisheim. Over the centuries, the domaine has become synonymous with a classic and gastronomic style of Alsace wine that emphasises purity, structure and balance.

Unlike many producers in the region who favour richer or sweeter styles, Léon Beyer has long championed a dry and elegant house style, producing wines designed to complement fine cuisine. This philosophy has helped establish the domaine as a favourite among top restaurants and sommeliers around the world.

The estate works with some of the finest vineyard sites surrounding Eguisheim, including the prestigious Grand Cru Eichberg and Grand Cru Pfersigberg vineyards. These sites benefit from complex limestone and marl soils that contribute to the aromatic intensity and structure of the wines.

Léon Beyer produces a range of traditional Alsatian grape varieties, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Muscat. Each wine reflects the distinctive character of the region while maintaining the elegance and restraint that define the domaine’s house style.

Today the estate remains firmly family-run, continuing a centuries-long tradition of producing wines that embody both the heritage of the Beyer family and the terroir of Alsace.
