Elvio Cogno Barolo Ravera Bricco Pernice DOCG 2018

Brands:

$288.00

Volume: 750ml

Ruby in color, tending toward garnet, the nose reveals intense notes of violet, accompanied by a hint of moist earth, ripe red fruit, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is harmonious and very structured, with punchy yet velvety and sweet tannins. Its elegant and mellow character is evident even in its youth, characteristics that will develop into complexity over the years, leaving room for evolution worthy only of great wines.

Notes:
Inspired by the name of the hill where mating partridges build their nests, Barolo Ravera Bricco Pernice is the latest release from the Cogno house: the result of much hard work, years and years of work, a dream come true. The project was born from Elvio’s dream, and Valter succeeded in realizing it: a splendid vineyard in the most historic part of the Ravera cru, a prime location for Barolo production and boasting an exceptional microclimate. Barolo Bricco Pernice, the continuation of Elvio Cogno’s story that began in La Morra, is part of the “Elvio Reserve” as the ultimate expression of all his technical and stylistic teachings, as only a great master like him could provide. A distinctive characteristic of Barolo Bricco Pernice is its enveloping softness, capable of simultaneously revealing all the mellowness and power of Bricco Ravera. The graphic design of the Bricco Pernice label represents the artistic evolution of Elena, the daughter of the winemaker, who today reinterprets this wine, just as she did at the age of three with the label of the Barolo dedicated to her, Vigna Elena.
