Gevrey Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs

$325.00

Volume: 750

These five vine plots are situated on the northern slope of Gevrey-Chambertin called the “Côteau de Brochon”. Thanks to the small, concentrated berries produced by these plots of old vines, we find here all the richness and fruitiness of a Gevrey-Chambertin, its velvety smooth tannins, its superb freshness and its length on the palate.

– En Motrot : this plot is located between the church and Château de Gevrey-Chambertin, immediately after Clos Saint-Jacques and at the end of Lavaux Valley. Soils here are pebbly, deep and compact.
– Au Vellé : situated to the north of Château de GevreyChambertin, this plot of old vines stands on a slope of gradual incline and is fully East-facing. At the bottom of the plot, soils are deep with some pebbles and clay. At the top, soils are less rich and filled with smaller pebbles.
– Combe du Dessus is on a gentle slope; it is at the end of Lavaux Valley, opposite En Motrot. Here the soils are deep, containing lots of small pebbles and in some places ridges of rock. This is a plot of very old vines which produces highly-concentrated grape clusters.
– En Champs : located on a gentle slope at the foot of the 1st Growth Les Champeaux and facing the rising sun, the two plots have comparable characteristics. It is said that several terroirs are found within this plot: relatively thin and very pebbly soils at the peak and much thicker and deeper soils at the bottom. En Champs is typically Burgundian and produces very small berries of high quality.
– En Derée : located at the foot of the slope of the place named En Champs, this plot of very old vines producing clusters of mixed size grapes, is planted on soils with a high content of clay and a few ridges of rock.
