Located in Montalcino, Tuscany, San Polo is an organic producer of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG owned by renowned Italian winemaker Marilisa Allegrini and her daughters, Carlotta and Caterina. A leading figure in the Italian wine industry, Marilisa Allegrini has played a pivotal role in elevating the international reputation of Italian wines and today continues her legacy at San Polo together with the next generation of the family.

The estate is located on the cooler, higher-elevation side of Montalcino, in the historic zone originally recognised for Brunello production. San Polo comprises approximately 54 acres of organically farmed vineyards and focuses on regenerative viticulture. Significant diurnal temperature variations, combined with constant winds and lower humidity, help maintain vine health and preserve freshness in the grapes. The nearby Mount Amiata also influences the estate’s soils through ancient volcanic deposits, contributing to the distinctive character of the wines.

Sustainability is central to the philosophy of San Polo. The vineyards are farmed organically and the estate actively promotes biodiversity through cover crops and the preservation of surrounding natural habitats.
