Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Thomas Morey is part of one of Burgundy’s historic winemaking families, whose roots in the village date back to 1643. Thomas Morey established his own domaine in 2007 following the division of family holdings, and today farms approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across 57 parcels in some of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious communes, including Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, Beaune and Pommard.

The estate is farmed with meticulous attention to detail, with a strong focus on low yields and vineyard precision. The vineyards are cultivated organically (certified from 2023), reflecting Thomas Morey’s commitment to preserving terroir expression. His expertise in viticulture is widely recognised, and he has also been entrusted with vineyard work for some of Burgundy’s most prestigious sites.

In the cellar, Thomas Morey aims to produce wines of finesse and tension, favouring a more precise and “fine-boned” style over richness and weight. Fermentations are carried out with care to preserve aromatic purity, with white wines aged in barrel for at least 12 months using minimal bâtonnage, while reds are vinified gently to maintain elegance and supple texture. The use of new oak is kept low, typically not exceeding 15%, allowing the character of each vineyard to remain at the forefront.
