Domaine Lecheneaut

Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Lécheneaut cultivates around 12 hectares of vineyards spread across more than twenty appellations in Burgundy’s most renowned terroirs.

The estate was founded in the late 1950s by Fernand Lécheneaut, who began with just 2.5 hectares of vineyards. In 1986, his sons Philippe and Vincent Lécheneaut took over the domaine after completing their oenological studies in Beaune. Under their leadership, the estate expanded significantly with the acquisition of several Premier Cru parcels, while the winery facilities were modernised to improve vinification precision.

Since 2017, the third generation has joined the domaine with Jules Lécheneaut, continuing the family’s commitment to Burgundy’s vineyard heritage. In the vineyards, the family follows a natural approach, working the soils traditionally and relying on organic products and organic matter to preserve soil health and balance.

Harvesting is carried out by hand, with careful sorting of the grapes before vinification. In the cellar, the wines undergo fermentation and are aged for around 18 months in oak barrels, with roughly one-third new oak each year. Bottling is carried out without fining or filtration, preserving the purity and character of the wines.

The wines of Domaine Lécheneaut reflect both the diversity of their vineyard holdings and the family’s dedication to producing expressive wines rooted in the traditions of the Côte de Nuits.
