Domaine Jacques Cacheux et Fils

Located in the renowned village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, Domaine Jacques Cacheux et Fils is a family estate whose roots trace back several generations. The Cacheux family were originally grape growers in the village, supplying fruit to local producers until the 1950s, when Jacques Cacheux began bottling wines under the family name and transformed the domaine into an independent estate.

Following Jacques’ retirement in 1994, his son Patrice Cacheux assumed leadership of the domaine, becoming the fourth generation of the family to work the vineyards. Under his direction, the estate has continued to develop both its vineyard management and cellar practices while preserving the family’s deep connection to the terroirs of Vosne-Romanée.

Today the domaine cultivates approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, producing around 11 cuvées across several notable Burgundy appellations. These include Vosne-Romanée, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, and Échezeaux Grand Cru, as well as the renowned Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Croix Rameau.

Patrice Cacheux has introduced several changes to both vineyard and cellar practices, gradually moving towards biodynamic-inspired viticulture by avoiding herbicides, insecticides, and anti-rot treatments. In the winery, the grapes are fully destemmed before undergoing a seven-day cold maceration, followed by fermentation with natural yeasts.

The Premier and Grand Cru wines are aged in 100% new oak barrels, before being bottled without fining or filtration, preserving the purity and structure of the wines.

The wines of Domaine Jacques Cacheux are known for their depth, intensity, and expressive character, reflecting both the distinctive terroirs of Vosne-Romanée and the dedication of a family that has quietly cultivated its vineyards for generations.
